Healthy Oat Waffles

Have a dream of eating waffles every morning? Try this recipe out!


INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup rolled oats

  • 1/2 cup almond milk

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 eggs

  • 1/2 medium ripe banana

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • 1 tbsp honey

DIRECTIONS

  • Preheat waffle iron and spray with cooking spray

  • Blend ingredients in a blender

  • Pour the appropriate amount of batter (depending on your waffle maker size) onto waffle iron

  • Allow waffle to cook

  • Continue with the rest of the batter

TOPPING IDEAS

- Peanut butter and jam

- Berries

- Coconut whip (if you have never tried this, go the store right now and grab some because it is amazing)

- Honey

- Turn them into waffle tacos with ice-cream


These waffles taste super yummy and are super simple, it shouldn't take longer than 5 minutes to whip up the batter. I used a mini waffle maker and made 7 waffles, if you are using a regular size iron you will end up with around 3-4 waffles. They are a little softer than regular waffles, try leaving them in the waffle iron a little longer, if you like crispier waffles. These are a great gluten free (if you use gluten free oats), healthy alternative to regular waffles. Enjoy and leave a comment below if you liked the recipe!
