Anti-Bloat Smoothie

It's time to de-bloat with an easy to make anti bloat drink. (This is an adapted recipe from Hello Glow)

market of clay pots

I am pretty sure bloating is something that we all don't like (or at least i've never met a soul who does), next time you're feeling a little or maybe a lot bloated give this smoothie a try. Relive yourself from some discomfort. Now I know most of us only came here for the ingredients so first things first, here is the recipe.

1/2 cup frozen pineapple

1 tbsp fresh grapefruit (optional)

1 tbsp chopped up ginger

1/4 cup chopped up cucumber

1/4 cup spinach

1/2 cup coconut water

DIRECTIONS: blend together

Pineapple

One word, enzymes. Pineapples are packed with enzymes that work to help your digestion by releasing proteins to break down your food. This fruit is also loaded with fibre, two things that are going to work to make your bloated belly feel better. Not to mention they are also just delicious and loaded with vitamin c!

Grapefruit

I am gonna start off by saying if you don't like the taste of grapefruit all that much, then skip this ingredient. Grapefruit has a strong taste and almost over powers the pineapple. However, it is another enzyme packed fruit and I just personally love the taste of it.

Ginger

Not sure this one even needs an explanation. Ginger is my go to for an upset tummy, it has been around forever and is known to help all kind of stomach issues. I would even recommend if you don't have the time or ingredients on hand try hot water with lemon and ginger, it will probably bring you some relief.

Cucumber

Cucumbers are full of water and unlike celery don't affect the taste of your drink all that much. They are also packed with potassium which helps fight against your sodium levels.

Spinach

You may be a fan of spinach but I most certainly am not. If you're like me, no need to fear, you really can't taste it in this smoothie. Spinach is simply just full of antioxidants and is something you should just put in all smoothies because why not ( I mean it's better than having to eat it).

Coconut Water

Coconut is going to help push all the unwanted sodium out of your body, as well it is just packed with a great amount of nutrients that are good for us. I don't love the taste of coconut water on it's own so this is a great way for me to get the benefits while actually enjoying the taste.
